Kevin graduated from Loyola in 2016 with a B.S. in Biochemistry. During his time at Loyola, Kevin was heavily involved in the student community. He was a part of the Student Diversity and Multicultural Affair's organization "Brothers for Excellence", taking on a leadership role during his sophomore and junior year as a mentor. Kevin also was involved in Loyola's student run EMS program, where he also took on a leadership role as lead responder. On top of his academic and volunteer commitments, Kevin was also a part of the men's Track and Field team.
After graduating from Loyola, Kevin went on to pursue a Master's in Biotechnology at Rush University. At Rush University Medical Center, Kevin worked in the Molecular Biophysics & Physiology Department under principal investigator Dr. Xun Ai. In Dr. Ai's lab, Kevin researched the pathology of atrial fibrillation, specifically the pathways of AF caused by stressors such as obesity and alcohol. Kevin was involved in various projects in the lab, stemming from immunohistological staining to EKG testing of donated human hearts.
Kevin has continued his pursuit of helping underserved communities by being a part of Charles Drew University/University of California, Los Angeles Medical Education Program which is geared towards serving underserved communities. He is currently dually enrolled in both institutions where he is expected to graduate in 2022 with a medical degree from both CDU and UCLA.
