My name is Javier Morfin and I am a first year medical student. I graduated From Loyola University Chicago in 2016. I majored in Biology. After college I worked as a scribe before entering medical school.
I am not sure which specialty I would like to go into so I am going through the process of finding what interests me most. I hope to do so through shadowing and my own personal research. I also hope to do research later on in medical school. As a mentor I hope to give as much advice as I can to pre-medical students. I can specifically speak to what it is like being a first generation student as well as balancing work, school, and social life, because I made some mistakes with this through undergrad. I would also be happy to help with personal statements and give advice with the application process.
