Loyola University Chicago, B.S. Biochemistry, Interdisciplinary Honors Program, 2015
Dominic graduated from Loyola in 2015 with Honors in Chemistry and Biochemistry, Magna Cum Laude, and as a member of the Interdisciplinary Honors Program. While at Loyola, he did research in organic chemistry and was President of the American Chemical Society Student Chapter. Dominic was also an academic tutor, both on a volunteer basis and as an employee of Loyola's Center for Tutoring and Academic Excellence. He also spent much of his time volunteering with Loyola 4 Chicago, a program of the office of Community Service and Action.
Before medical school, Dominic spent two years as a Research Assistant in cardiac physiology, first at Loyola's Stritch School of Medicine, and then at Rush University's Department of Physiology and Biophysics. His clinically translational research allowed him to gain experience both at the lab bench and in a direct clinical setting.
Dominic is passionate about helping others achieve their dream of going to medical school and is eager to hear from members of the Loyola community at any step in the process. He can be directly reached at his alumni email address, ddemarco1@luc.edu.
