Mentoring and Advising
Hello, my name is Alex Stoddard and I'm a 2nd year medical student. I graduated with a degree in Biology from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, MI in 2013 and then completed my MS in Medical Physiology at Loyola in 2014 before starting at Stritch in the Fall of 2014.
Medical Interests:
I have always been interested in ophthalmology, but I'm also interested in internal medicine.
Medical School Activities:
I'm currently on the board for the ophthalmology interest group here at Loyola. I participated in a lot of research while in undergrad and I have continued doing research here at Loyola. I also took time to get my Masters after completing my undergrad degree. After being accepted at Loyola, I decided to join the Army as a part of the Health Professions Scholarship Program (HPSP) and I spent the summer of 2015 at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, TX for my Officer Training.
Hobbies:
I enjoy playing sports (hockey, golf, basketball, etc.) when I'm not studying. I also like watching movies, Netflix, and going to concerts.
Please feel free to contact me if you have questions about the application/interview process, research, taking a gap year, the HPSP program, or if you just want to talk about med school, movies, music, etc.
