Mentoring and Advising
Hi! My name is Dipan and I am an M4 at SSOM. I graduated from Emory University with a double major in Neuroscience and Chemistry. After college I did research at Emory in pediatric oncology. I then attending Loyola where I graduated with a MA in Medical sciences. I took another year to work at UChicago in clinical reasearch before matriculating.
Applying to medical school was one of the greatest enduring and rewarding experiences I have had. Throughout the process I had to think about my grades, extracurriculars, and gap years while trying to find out why I wanted to go to medical school. It was a tough question to answer, especially because everyone has their own way of answering it. With all this experience, I hope to help you find your path to medical school.
I decided to go to medical school because of my passion to work with underserved communities and provide care for them. In medical school, I am primarily work with NLVS, a free Chicago clinic. I am also involved with public health research both in Maywood and abroad. I am involved with various interest groups across campus. Outside of medicine, I am an avid reader (yes you can read for fun!) and Netflix watcher. I also love exploring Chicago and seeing all that it has to offer.
Please reach out to me if you have any questions!
