Chicago, Illinois, United States
My name is Ariel and I am a first year medical student. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 2013 where I majored in neurobiology and minored in global health. After college I earned a Master's degree in Public Health from George Washington University. I also spent 2 years doing research before beginning medical school.
My path to medical school was a bit winding with lots of interesting stops along the way. During undergrad, I completed a Global Health Certificate, which sparked my interest in the field of public health. After graduation, I spent 6 months interning with a pediatric orthopedic surgeon before beginning an MPH (masters in public health) program. After earning my MPH, I spent 2 years doing clinical research.
I have always been involved with community service activities ranging from Hospice care, to tutoring, to the Human Society.
