Mentoring
My name is Alex, and I am a second year medical student. I graduated from Loyola University Chicago. In undergrad, I double majored in Biology and Exercise Science. I also graduated from Loyola University Chicago's MAMS program. After college I worked as an administrative assistant/bookkeeper before entering medical school.
Due to my previous experiences, I am interested in PM&R and Pediatrics. However, I am open to other specialties as I look forward to next year's rotations.
Last year I volunteered with our Pediatric Interest Group through a program called STEPS twice a month. This past summer I participated in the STAR Research Program with Dr. John Callaci focusing on bone fracture healing. I hope to continue research focusing on more clinical topics. This year and next year, I will be developing a capstone project for the Bioethics Honors Program. I am also the Director of LUC Mentors, a tour guide and interviewer with the Admissions Office, a Student Leader in Healer's Art, and the MSU Rep for the PM&R Interest Group.
I love to cook and try new restaurants (and Instagram it)! Playing with the puppies here on campus is also a top priority! My fun fact is that I am a triplet!
I am interested in helping with the application process and reviewing personal statements, as well as answering any questions about medical school, MAMS, dating during medical school, etc.!
