My name is Patsi Whiteside and I am currently a first year medical student at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine. I graduated from Santa Clara University in 2014 with a B.S. in Biology and Public Health. After college, I completed a post-baccalaureate program at the University of Pennsylvania and then worked for a year in the medical field as a scribe.

MORE

I would be happy to answer any of your questions regarding medical school or the application process! During my undergraduate years at Santa Clara University, I worked as a scribe in an emergency department. During my senior year, I applied to medical school, but was not accepted. Therefore, in my gap years, I attended a post-baccalaureate program at the University of Pennsylvania and worked as a scribe in an ophthalmology department.

I am thinking about specializing in Emergency Medicine, although I am trying to keep an open-mind as I shadow different departments. I am currently involved with the Admissions Committee here at Stritch, as well as in various community clinics.

Being from Colorado, skiing is one of my favorite activities (but mountains are limited around here). So now, during my free time, I enjoy exploring Chicago! I look forward to answering any questions you may have regarding applying to medical schools, choices during your gap year, or medical school life in general!
