My name is Madison McKee and I am a first year medical student. I graduated from Northeastern University in Boston, MA. I majored in Behavioral Neuroscience and minored in Business. After college, I worked in psychiatric clinical research at Massachusetts General Hospital for two years before entering medical school.
My experience in medical school has been very positive thus far. The transition from working to attending school seemed a bit overwhelming, but I have found strategies to navigate the adjustment. I felt that the two years I spent conducting research prior to matriculating were invaluable in solidifying my interest in pursuing a career in medicine. I am highly interested in women's health, and have joined AMWA and the Society for Women's Health. I would be happy to mentor regarding gap years, personal statements, the application process, or "why medicine." The mentorship I received while applying immensely benefitted me during the process, so I want to pay it forward! Outside of school, I enjoy fitness, exploring restaurants, and spending time with friends.
