Hi all! My name is Kyle Bartelt and I am a first year medical student. I'm originally from Naperville, IL and I graduated from Valparaiso University in 2015, where I majored in biology, chemistry, and psychology, with minors in math and sociology. After graduating, I completed a one-year Master of Science in Medical Physiology (MSMP) program at Loyola before beginning medical school here at Stritch. I am currently unsure of which specialty I would like to pursue, though my interests seem to gravitate toward internal medicine, neurology, and (neuro?)surgery.
I am happy to help answer any questions you may have about preparing for or deciding to pursue medical school, advice on preparing for the MCAT, the application process, or anything else! I am the first person in my family to attend medical school
I have two years of neuropsychology research experience along with about a year of cell/molecular bio/physiology research. I also work occasionally as a patient transporter at a hospital in the Chicago suburbs. I will be updating this as the year progresses (and as I smooth out my extracurricular commitments), so stay tuned!
