Mentoring and Advising
My name is Avais and I am a 2nd year medical student. I graduated from Loyola University Chicago in 2013. I majored in Biology with a minor in Mathematics and also the Honors Program. After college, I took a year off before starting medical school.
I was born in Chicago, IL and grew up on the north side in Skokie. I was a commuter at Loyola and had a pretty awesome time while I was there. I plan on going into anesthesiology. Outside of school, I am a huge Chicago sports fan and love playing basketball specifically. I also enjoy going out, spending time with family/friends, and playing video games (I miss Halo 3).
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about applying to medical school, taking a gap year, or GPA/MCAT questions. I should probably add that I also worked for The Princeton Review as a Biology teacher and was involved with research in undergrad. I can also provide advice to those of you trying to decide which classes/teachers to take, I know the hassles of LOCUS and trying to get the schedule you need.
