About her career:
Kim Buchanan Smith is a college administrator living in Las Vegas, Nevada. Having taken her own roundabout path through college while trying to decide what to be when she grew up, she stumbled upon the answer – be in college for the rest of her life (but get paid for it!). Along the way, Kim earned a bachelor’s in Psychology and a master’s in Community Counseling from Loyola.
After a few years teaching others the skills she learned in taking and teaching career development and leadership courses, she returned to her studies to complete a doctorate in Education Leadership.
Currently, she is the Academic Coordinator/Operations Director for the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences and an adjunct faculty member at Nevada State College, a small state college in Henderson, Nevada. There she manages the financial and human resources for the School and completes special assignments for the Dean of the College and on behalf of the college’s executive team.
