About his career:
Karnell Black is currently a student development professional at Westminster College. In his current role; he provides leadership for commencement, student activities, student involvement, leadership, division program assessment, residential academic initiatives and new student orientation.
Additionally, he has oversight of the Counseling Center, Residence Life, Spiritual Life, and Student Involvement, Leadership, & Orientation. Although a native Texan, Karnell received his undergraduate degree in Communication and master’s degree in Higher Education Administration from Loyola University Chicago.
Prior to coming to Westminster College, he was responsible for overseeing Orientation and First Year and Transfer Initiatives at Loyola University Chicago. Karnell has a background in retention programming and implementation of strategic priorities. He is student centered with a strong outcomes based philosophy which is preparing students to be positive change agents in world.
