I have been a management consultant to CPA firms nationwide for over 20 years. My consulting focuses on the management of firms, not anything to do with accounting or tax, even though I am a CPA. My firm is based in Chicago. My claim to fame is this: Of the nine million people living in metro Chicago, no one knows more about CPA firms, and no one knows more Chicago area CPA firms, than me.
In my consulting work, I spend a lot of time working with firms on staff issues and as such, am in a great position to understand how CPA firms hire staff, what their duties are and how they can advance with a firm. I work with firms on structuring their management, dealing with partner issues such as partner agreements, succession planning, strategic planning and mergers.
