MORE

I graduated from Loyola in 2009 with a B.S. in Biology, B.A. in Music, and a minor in Neuroscience. After graduation I began working in the Neurocritical Care Research Laboratory at the University of Chicago. The focus of our research was on investigating the pathophysiology of ischemic stroke and developing neuroprotective strategies. I then enrolled in the Neuroscience Graduate Program at The Ohio State University in 2013. I recently completed my thesis project on the neuroimmunological consequences of spinal cord injury. I have over 10 years of biomedical research experience and expertise in neuroimmunology, central nervous system injury and repair, and molecular and cellular immunology. I recently completed my Ph.D. in August of 2019 and will soon begin my postdoctoral research at Albert Einstein College of Medicine studying how the brain controls the generation of immune cells in the bone marrow. My long-term career goal is to perform biomedical research in an academic setting, leading my own research lab and group.
