Mentoring and advising
I am a first year medical student at Loyola. I grew up in small town Iowa and went to Bethel University in St. Paul where I graduated in 2015 with a major in Biokinetics.
I did not decide that I wanted to apply to medical school until my sophomore year of undergraduate. Although I was a little "behind" on my path to medical school, I was fortunate enough to catch up and be accepted to medical school during my senior year.
I am currently undecided on what type of medicine I want to practice, but I do know that I want to go into a surgical specialty. I am currently doing research in orthopedics and I am about to start on a project with a vascular surgeon.
A few of my passions include drumming, Cubs baseball, exercise and nutrition as preventive medicine, doughnuts (contradictory right?) and spending time with my wife!
