My name is Juan Ariza and I am a 1st year medical student. I graduated from Florida International University in Miami. I majored in Biology and Chemistry. After college I traveled throughout Italy for a month before entering medical school.

I am a first generation college student and I have had the pleasure of studying abroad in France and visiting countries like Germany and Italy. I am thinking about specializing as a cardiologist but I am open to new experiences that may change my thought process. In medical school I am involved with Medical Spanish; I am one of the advance teachers, the admission committee, Latino Medical Student Association, and internal medicine special interest group. I was a student athlete in undergrad and high school. I am interested in mentoring students with the application process to medical school and undergraduate class selection.
